RootSynapse

In-situ, in sight.

RootSynapse is where your RootVision units come together: schedule them, see every image as it arrives, stitch panoramas, build timelapses, and follow soil temperature, battery and location across the whole fleet, on your desktop, your phone and in the cloud.

Click the app's tiles and tabs to explore, or pick a view:

Get RootSynapse

RootSynapse checks for updates and installs new versions itself. The mobile app does what you need at the plot: check every unit, change a schedule, provision a new one, and wake units with a RootBeacon plugged into the phone. Listings go up as each store approves the app.

What it does

From six images to a season of growth

Schedule & capture

Set it once, see every image

Choose how often each unit captures and when the next cycle runs. As a cycle runs, the gallery fills in camera by camera; every image is dated, kept, and can be downloaded at full resolution.

  • Capture intervals from hours to days, or capture now
  • Camera settings: brightness and focus, per unit
  • Name, describe and organize units by plot

Panorama stitching

One continuous view of the profile

RootSynapse stitches each cycle's six images into a single tall panorama of the root zone, calibrated to each unit's cameras. It happens on your PC or in the cloud, so panoramas are waiting for you even when you weren't connected.

Timelapse

Watch a season in a minute

Turn any range of panoramas into a timelapse video at the frame rate you choose. Roots push down, branch and fill the soil; see what weeks of growth look like in one clip, ready to share or present.

Soil temperature

Six depths, the whole season

Every unit logs soil temperature at each camera's depth. RootSynapse plots the history so you can line up what you see in the roots with what the soil was doing.

Fleet map

Every unit, one map

Each unit reports its GPS location. See your whole fleet on a satellite map, with battery and status for each, and jump straight to any unit's images.

On site or in the cloud

Reach units wherever they are

On site, RootSynapse talks to units over your WiFi or the unit's own access point. Units out of reach show as clouded: change their settings anyway, and each picks up the change the next time it connects.

And everything else

Built to run a fleet

Provisioning

Set up a new unit in minutes: scan its code, connect it to your network and claim it to your account.

Firmware updates

Update units over the air, or from the unit's SD card when there's no connection. RootSynapse tells you when a new version is ready.

Battery history

Each unit's charge over time, so you can plan field visits before a unit runs low.

LoRa wake

With a RootBeacon plugged in, wake every unit in range on demand, without waiting for the schedule.

Cloud sync

Images, panoramas and timelapses sync to your account, so the whole team sees the same library from any computer.

Your data, your files

Download full-resolution images, panoramas and videos any time, for your own analysis tools.
